Midwood Tennis Academy (MTA) was founded in February 2008, and has since served more than 1,200 tennis enthusiasts in the Charlotte community.  Owned and operated by Charlotte resident Tom Edsall, a USPTA certified tennis professional for more than 15 years, Midwood Tennis Academy strives to teach the great game of tennis to players of all ages and ability levels while staying true to one main goal – fun comes first!

Midwood Tennis Academy has been providing high quality tennis instruction in Charlotte since 2008.  We are a local business that has direct involvement with the community and those who live here with us.  With strong local connections, including our founder, Tom Edsall, serving as a commissioner on the Charlotte Tennis Association’s Jr. Team Tennis board, Midwood Tennis Academy provides high quality, enjoyable instruction while supporting and fostering community development.

Our goal at Midwood Tennis Academy is to teach our players to compete with honesty, integrity and confidence; to show our players that the goal isn't to win, but to play to the best of our abilities and to be the best people we can be.  We strive to build confident, honest, courageous individuals who display strong character in all aspects of their lives, and who are capable of overcoming adversity, resolving conflicts and being proud of who they are and what they stand for regardless of the outcome of a tennis match.
